As our train for Certaldo wasn't leaving till 12.30 p.m. we decided to leave our bags at the tourist office in Lucca and hire a couple of pushbikes to ride around the city walls.
Heaps of markets happening in Lucca this morning. It was great to just pull over to the side of the trail - secure the bikes to a rail and then check out the markets. Fresh fruit and vegetables as well as heaps of leather bags, clothes etc.
Caught the train for Certaldo. Instead of going back via Pisa - we took the alternate option and went via Florence arriving at Certaldo around 3 p.m.
We then had to wait for the hire car. Fortunately there were a couple of Americans at the station (who were also going to Organic Tuscany) so Kendall managed to follow them all the way. Just as well, not knowing the directions + driving on the other side of the road proved to be challenging. She did a great job however and by the time we arrived at the Villa was starting to grow in confidence

We met the other people who will be taking part in the course over dinner, and they all seem really nice. 4 couples - 2 from California; 2 English
The Villa is stunning and the scenery breathtaking. I can't wait for the classes to start - it is going to be a fantastic week.
