Day 2 Organic Tuscany

Day 2 saw us heading off to the medieval city of San Gimignano. This classic hilltop town is probably the most evocative of the Middle Ages of any other town in Tuscany.  It is better known as the medieval Manhattan with its 14 towers spiking the skyline.  It is clearly visible from Organic Tuscany and at night, looks almost magic like.

Kendall has been having problems with her back (a bit of a carry over from sitting for 24 hours in a plane I'm sure) so Alan and I managed to grab a lift with one of the other couples here and spent the morning wandering the streets of San Gimignano and taking in the majestic views of this beautiful city.

Back to the Villa for our second Cooking Class at 4:30 p.m.
On the menu today :
2 types of crostini - peppers and goats cheese + salsa Verde;
Minestrone soup;
Melanzane allla parmigiana; (eggplant and parmesan)
Cauliflower with fennel seeds and tomato;
Orange and almond cake and biscotti.

So fabulous to be able to learn how to make all this incredible food and then be able to enjoy it for dinner.  Even the non vegetarians in the course are totally "sold" on the variety and deliciousness of our cooking.

Before dinner, we experienced an olive oil tasting session with Cristina.  Such a wealth of knowledge (and so passionate!) about olive oil.
